Xtera-IP launches new top-end models of its line of traffic managers Ascenflow
Berlin, 10/07/2008. The American-Taiwanese company Xtera-IP has launched three new top-end models of its line of traffic management appliances Ascenflow. The new devices are the Ascenflow M2500, M5000 and M10000. In contrast to the smaller models, all three offer more bandwidth and more concurrent connections. Furthermore, the user can add twice as many rules as in the other devices.
The Ascenflow-line of traffic managers allows network traffic management on layer 7. The user can, for instance, restrict bandwidth usage of certain protocols, prioritize user groups and individual users or prohibit usage of certain protocols.
The new M2500 handles a maximum bandwidth of 1,000,000 MB and up to 1,000 concurrent connections. The M5000 offers the same bandwidth, but twice as many concurrent connections. The M10000 manages a bandwidth of 2,000,000 MB and up to 3,000 concurrent connections. Customers can order the M5000 and the M10000 in versions for fiber networks.
The new devices complete the Ascenflow line of traffic managers and offer performance and reliability for large corporate networks.
