On March 20, OSYON’s General Manager Oliver Spickhoff gave a talk at CeBIT Network Forum on highly available VPN-connections using multiple-WAN trunking. In his talk, Oliver Spickhoff explained how Berlin-based IT-consultancy firm OSYON has been implementing AscenVision’s load balancer AscenLink in clients’ networks. OSYON aimed at improving availaibility and thus increase efficiency and security of corporate networks.
AscenLink constitutes an affordable and cost-effective solution for integrating remote offices into corporate networks via VPN. Thus, companies gain new options for network topology and IT infrastructure.
In particular, AscenLink allows creating stable VPN-connections by establishing multiple WAN-tunnels with dynamic IP-addresses. Furthermore, OSYON’s General Manager Oliver Spickhoff elaborated at the CeBIT Network Forum, AscenLink offers the unique feature of uniting leased lines, cheap ADSL-lines and various other media such as 3G wireless networks. The user can construct traffic and balancing rules and thus improve the company’s network security and availability. Including a greater variety of media sources than any other device on the market, AscenLink guarantees extremely high availability on unprecedented levels. OSYON has used this quality multiple times in order to improve cost-effectiveness of many customers’ networks.
